VALHALLA MEMORY GARDENS
Valhalla Memory Gardens, located on a beautiful North Alabama hillside, is a place of serene beauty and thoughtful remembrance. Whatever the time of year, Valhalla’s natural beauty is endlessly comforting and evokes the wonder of the never-ending cycle of seasons.
Valhalla Memory Gardens offers traditional ground burial, lawn crypts, mausoleum entombment, as well as options for those who choose cremation. Six gardens at Valhalla are designed for traditional ground burial—each distinguished by a life-sized sculpture of a Biblical subject. These works of art, carved of white Italian Carrara marble, were designed by internationally renowned artist, Dominic Zappia.
Aboveground mausoleum entombment can also be found at Valhalla. The mausoleum buildings at Valhalla are separated by open pavilions used for committal services and meditation. The Chapel of Devotion, made of native stone and completed in 1974, was Huntsville’s first community mausoleum. The mausoleum buildings also include several marble-faced columbaria—niches for urns containing cremated remains. In the Chapel of Love, niches with glass facings reveal the elegance of bronze urns.
The Garden of Crosses features over 1,000 lawn crypts, a burial option favored by many families because it combines the best aspects of ground interment and aboveground entombment. Valhalla Memory Gardens honors those who have served our country by offering more than 1,000 lawn crypts in the Valor Garden that are specifically reserved for veterans. These include double-depth and side-by-side crypts.
FAITH MEMORIAL PARK
Faith Memorial Park serves families on the west side of Huntsville. Like Valhalla, Faith Memorial Park utilizes the gently sloping parkland for traditional interment, with mausoleums and lawn crypts on the terraced hillside behind the main gardens.
